The role of trained paramedics is of immense importance in the diagnosis and treatment of any disease. In every sphere of medical science, paramedical personnel are playing key roles. Keeping this in mind, Assam down town University has come up with different courses in fields of paramedical and allied health sciences. With the upcoming post graduate courses in the programs of Emergency & Critical Care Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biotechnology, Social Work etc. it is all set to take a major stride in the health care industry. The Faculty is equipped with well-furnished classrooms, modern laboratories having equipment like autoanalyser, colorimeter etc., The Allied Health Sciences department has facilities for EMG, LASER, NCV, EEG and other therapeutic equipment as per national and international standards in the Department of Physiotherapy. The physiotherapy students of Allied Health Sciences are trained at down town hospital, NABH accredited with all modern facilities for investigations and treatment. The Physiotherapy department also runs regular OPD at AdtU campus for the service of the local people. Experienced faculty members with brilliant academic career are imparting education to the students. Seminars, workshops and field trips for exposure are arranged regularly. Guest lecturers are invited from time to time to take special sessions.
