M.A. in Sociology programme prepares the students for a better understanding towards human society and their relationships. It provides multiple training and opportunities in research through dissertation work in the relevant topics where they get practical exposure in the field. Apart from the classroom teaching, the students shall undergo Mini Research, Techno-Professional Skill, Corporate Proficiency courses which will further enable them to do better in the field of sociology and will contribute to the well-being of the society at large. The programme will provide the opportunity to understand the different perspectives of society.

This course offers an introduction to Gender Studies, an interdisciplinary field that asks critical questions about the meanings of sex and gender in society. The primary goal of this course is to familiarize students with key issues, questions and debates in Gender Studies, both historical and contemporary.
