Faculty of Science Hosts Earth Hour Event with Expert Talk on Triple Planetary Crisis, Promoting Energy Conservation and Sustainable Living

Assam down town University observed Earth Hour on 28th March 2026, organized by the Faculty of Science, to raise awareness about energy conservation and environmental responsibility.

The program featured an insightful expert talk by Dr. Narayan Sharma, Assistant Professor, Cotton University, on the theme “Reconnecting with Nature in the Age of the Triple Planetary Crisis.” The session highlighted important environmental challenges such as climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss, and encouraged students to adopt sustainable lifestyles.

As a symbolic gesture of support for global efforts towards environmental conservation, all non-essential lights across the university campus were switched off from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, reflecting the university community’s commitment to protecting our planet.

Through initiatives like these, Assam down town University continues to inspire students and faculty to take meaningful steps towards a more sustainable future.
