Students with a science background can opt for a career in physiotherapy. To become a practicing physiotherapist or work in a hospital or clinic, one must have a Bachelor's degree. The course provides a basic understanding of the human body, medical sciences, therapy procedures, and related skill training. The curriculum covers subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, psychology, medical and surgical conditions, biomechanics, kinesiology, disability prevention, rehabilitation, and others. Practical work forms a significant part of the course, including an internship period where students work under professional supervision at various hospitals and institutions. Interpersonal skills are essential in physiotherapy as it is a patient-oriented job. A physiotherapist should have above-average analytical and logical reasoning skills, scientific reasoning, problem-solving abilities, good memory and recall of scientific facts, manual dexterity and physical stamina, patience and understanding of people, a sympathetic approach to patients, a desire to help others, levelheadedness in emergency situations, mental and emotional strength, team spirit, good observation skills, and the ability to instill confidence and courage in patients. This course aims to impart knowledge regarding the testing of electrical properties of muscles and nerves, as well as the principles of nerve conduction, in order to diagnose underlying pathologies. The student will be introduced to the physiology and electrical properties of muscles and nerves, and will learn about the necessary instrumentation and procedures for conducting electrophysiological and electro diagnostic testing. Additionally, the course will cover the identification and interpretation of abnormal findings. Course Overview

Health workers are at high risk of violence all over the world. Between 8% and 38% of health workers suffer physical violence at some point in their careers. Many more are threatened or exposed to verbal aggression. Most violence is perpetrated by patients and visitors. Also in disaster and conflict situations, health workers may become the targets of collective or political violence.

  • The students will learn about the health workers most at risk include nurses and other staff directly involved in patient care, emergency room staff and paramedics.
  • The students will explore negative impact on the psychological and physical well-being of health-care staff, but also affects their job motivation.

This course serves as an introductory course in the dissertation methodology writing process. The focus of the course is the further development of the student's dissertation proposal towards thier partial fullfillment of thier MPT degree program

Introduce the students to the concepts related Physiotherapy management for common conditions in the ICU Physiotherapy management of peripheral vascular disorders, Physiotherapy management in Obstructive and restrictive lung disorders, Cardiac rehabilitation C.B.R in Cardio-vascular and respiratory conditions.

Course Outcomes

  • Acquainted the students to be able to learn about the applications and execution of different physiotherapy management following general medical and surgical conditions and in ICU. To gain knowledge about Poisoning drug overdose and drawning and also to learn about respiratory pharmacology.
  • Categorise physiotherapy management of peripheral vascular disorders and also will gain knowledge about exercise testing exercise planning and prescription.
  • Acquainted the student to learn about physiotherapy management in Obstructive and restrictive lung disorders. Will also learn about cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. The student will also learned about physiotherapy management following congenital and acquired heart diseases.
  • Choose different physiotherapy modalities for wound healing. Will also gain knowledge to prescribe exercises for health promotion and fitness for special populations- DM, Obesity, IHD, COPD, HTN
  • Plan out applications and execution of different physiotherapy management in CBR to improve cardiovascular and respiratory disorders.

Course Overview

Will be able to identify , discuss and analyse the musculoskeletal dysfunction in terms of biomechanical, kinesiological and biophysical basis. Will use the anatomical rationale for clinical tests used in differential diagnosis.

  • Aquinted the ability to perform an appropriate subjective and physical examination, with development of suitable analytical skills to evaluate data obtained.
  • Develop clinical reasoning that incorporates theoretical concept with evidence-based practice in the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
  • Acquinted the implication of dysfunction on the Neuro- Musculoskeletal system and the student’s clinical decision making.
  • Evaluate patients with scale, out come measures and asses the progression.
  • Gained the knowledge about the use recent Technique/ approaches to treat & train patients with musculo-skeletal deficit in children, adults & geriatrics.
