








Assam down town University, in collaboration with Chandrapur Fire & Emergency Services Station, successfully conducted a Fire & Safety Workshop aimed at enhancing awareness and preparedness for emergency situations.
The session provided participants with essential knowledge on the definition and elements of fire, types of fire (Class A, B, C, D, Electrical, and Kitchen fires), and effective extinguishing methods such as cooling, smothering, and starvation.
Experts from Chandrapur Fire Station also demonstrated the types and uses of fire extinguishers, including water, foam (AFFF), CO2, and dry chemical powder extinguishers, highlighting their application in different fire scenarios.
A key takeaway for participants was the practical guidance on handling fire incidents, including the widely recommended safety technique “Stop, Drop & Roll.”
Overall, the workshop reinforced the importance of fire safety awareness and preparedness, empowering participants with life-saving knowledge and skills to respond effectively in emergency situations.
