Interventional radiology is a medical sub-specialty of radiology utilizing minimally invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system. Nuclear medicine uses radioactive material inside the body to see how organs or tissue are functioning (for diagnosis) or to target and destroy damaged or diseased organs or tissue (for treatment). Thissubjectimpartstheknowledgeonhowtheinterventionalproceduresand nuclear medicine helps in the diagnosis of the disease or abnormalities and the treatment of the patients.
Dual x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scans is a measurement of bone density (thickness and strength of bones) by application of x-ray beam through the body, mostly in the pelvic bones and the vertebral body. This procedure is important for various diagnostic histopathology such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis etc. and to motor the change of bone density over time.
