Assam down town University, under the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, organised an agricultural field visit as part of its practical and experiential learning programme, offering students valuable exposure to real-world farming practices. The visit enabled meaningful interactions with local farmers to understand prevailing farming systems, crop diversification approaches, and livelihood strategies. Students actively engaged in soil sample collection for analysis and carried out visual observations of insect pests and diseases affecting standing crops. This hands-on field exposure enriched their academic learning, strengthened practical skills, and encouraged critical thinking in an engaging and experiential learning environment beyond the classroom.
