One-Day Entrepreneurship Awareness Program Highlights Startup Opportunities, MSME Support, Financial Literacy, and Government Schemes for Aspiring Student Entrepreneurs

Assam down town University successfully hosted a One Day Entrepreneurship Awareness Program (EAP) in collaboration with the Tool Room & Training Centre (TRTC), Guwahati under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, along with the Faculty of Engineering and DISA, Assam down town University.

The program began with a warm welcome to the participants, followed by the Welcome Address by Prof. Sunandan Baruah, Director, DISA, who emphasized the importance of entrepreneurial thinking and innovation in today’s dynamic economic landscape. 

The technical sessions were delivered by distinguished resource persons. Mr. Manash Pratim Pathak, Sr. Skill Program Coordinator, MSME – TRTC, Guwahati, conducted a session on Entrepreneurship Development, discussing opportunity identification, business planning, and the importance of structured skill training. Mr. Aniket Roy Choudhury, CNC Shop Floor Supervisor, MSME – TRTC, Guwahati, shared insights on the role of MSMEs in industrial growth and explained the concept and training infrastructure of TRTC, Guwahati.

Further enriching the program, Mr. Diganta Baruah, Extension Officer, District Industries & Commerce Centre (DICC), Kamrup (M), spoke about various government finance schemes that provide financial assistance, subsidies, and institutional support to aspiring entrepreneurs. Mr. Durlov Chandra Nath, Financial Literacy Counselor, Lead Bank, Kamrup (M), delivered an informative session on financial literacy, highlighting the importance of responsible financial management, understanding banking systems, and maintaining credit discipline for sustainable business growth.

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Amarendra Deka, Program Head (Mechanical Engineering), Faculty of Engineering, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons from TRTC, DICC, and Lead Bank for their valuable insights. 

The Entrepreneurship Awareness Program successfully provided students with practical insights into entrepreneurship, financial planning, and government support mechanisms, thereby strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem within the university and encouraging students to pursue innovative business opportunities.
