Assam down town University, through the Faculty of Science, conducted a scientific talk titled “Scientific Aptitude: The Engine for Research & Development”, delivered by Dr. Akshay Talukdar, Senior Scientist, IARI, New Delhi.

In his insightful session, he emphasized the spirit of enquiry and the importance of cultivating a scientific temper. He also discussed the current status of Indian science, its contributions and challenges, and reflected on the reasons why scientific growth in India needs further momentum. His talk provided valuable perspectives and suggested a forward path for strengthening research and development in the country.

Following the lecture, the Honourable Vice Chancellor, Dr. N.C. Talukdar addressed the gathering and encouraged students to develop a strong scientific mindset and actively engage in research-driven learning. The formal session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Rajeev Sarma, expressing gratitude to the distinguished speaker, dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their participation.
