The Discipline of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Assam down town University commenced the first day of our immersive two-day workshop, ‘Sizzle & Sip: A Hands-On Culinary and Mixology Experience!’
Designed for students from Class 9 to 12, this initiative was crafted to inspire young culinary minds and give them a practical taste of the hospitality industry. At our university, we believe in creating opportunities where learning extends beyond the classroom and our Hospitality department is at the forefront of turning that vision into reality.
Day one began with a warm welcome, followed by interactive sessions where students rolled up their sleeves and stepped into our professional kitchens. Under the guidance of our expert faculty, they learned to prepare popular dishes like Hakka Noodles, Chilli Chicken, and Egg Drop Soup, mastering essential techniques and understanding kitchen dynamics.
The post-lunch session brought a different kind of energy, as students were introduced to the art of Momo-making, learning everything from dough preparation to stuffing and steaming. The mixology session added a refreshing twist, with participants creating their own versions of Virgin Mojito, Pineapple Fizz, and Sunrise Mocktail. The blend of hands-on training, expert mentorship, and peer collaboration made for an exciting and enriching first day.
