Assam down town University organized a practical field lesson to help agriculture students experience learning beyond textbooks and classrooms. Recognizing agriculture as the backbone of our country and the foundation of food security, the trip aimed to bridge the gap between theory and real-world practice.
During the field visit, students observed crop growth patterns, soil conditions, and farm management techniques, gaining firsthand insight into the realities of food production. They actively participated in sowing and nurturing crops such as field pea, rajma, and green gram, allowing them to understand each stage of crop development through direct involvement.
Working in the field helped students appreciate the effort, patience, and discipline required in agriculture. The practical lesson strengthened their understanding of crop care, teamwork, and sustainable farming practices, while also fostering respect for the farming community.
Overall, the experience was both educational and meaningful, instilling pride among students as they engaged in a profession that nurtures the land and contributes to a sustainable future.
