Assam down town University, through its Centre for Language Proficiency and Professional Development (CLPPD), organised a workshop titled “Visual Story: Picture Prompt Writing Challenge”.

The distinguished speaker for the event was Shri Swapnanil Barua, Retired IAS Officer, whose expertise and guidance elevated the learning experience for the participants.

The workshop was conducted across three immersive sessions, each designed to nurture creativity and sharpen written expression. Students were encouraged to interpret visual cues, discover deeper meanings, and translate images into compelling narratives. The activity strengthened observation skills, enhanced vocabulary, improved story structure, and built confidence in expressing ideas with clarity. In addition to writing, the resource person placed special focus on the accurate pronunciation of medical terminology, engaging students through interactive practice and constructive feedback.

Overall, the workshop provided an enriching platform for learners to think creatively, analyse critically, and develop a more refined approach to storytelling and language proficiency.
