In light of NEP 2020's awareness of the richness of Indian Knowledge Systems, the workshop attempted to instill a more inclusive, comprehensive, and culturally based approach to education. Dr. Arup Bordoloi, Project Director of the Sangeet Natak Akademi North East Centre Guwahati, attended the opening ceremony and spoke about the necessity of maintaining traditional knowledge. Dr. Prateeti Barman, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, emphasised the importance of the Indian Knowledge System in her inaugural address, setting the tone for the informative sessions that followed.
Throughout the session, participants from diverse academic programmes explored the essence of Indian knowledge, led by resource persons Dr. Dimple Choudhury of CLPPD and Ms. Pankhi Kayshap of HSS. The workshops not only highlighted the contributions of Indian intellectuals from various sectors, but also encouraged students to consider their own identities and cultural heritage. The session provided a lively venue for students to investigate Vedic knowledge and the lasting legacy of Indian scholars throughout history. It instilled a sense of pride and responsibility in conserving India's cultural treasures, establishing a stronger connection with their roots.
