Career Counselling Session Empowers Students with Insights into UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, SLET, and JRF Exam Preparation

Assam down town University, through its Directorate of Career Advancement, organized a career counselling session titled “Pathway to UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, SLET, and JRF: Empowering Scholars Towards Academic Excellence.”

The event featured Ms. Shabana Hussain, Founder of Boost-A-Brain Classes and Brain Gym institutions dedicated to fostering academic excellence and holistic brain development, as the esteemed resource person. The session was exclusively designed for students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Sciences.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. Rimjhim Baruah Borah, Director (i/c), Directorate of Career Advancement, in the presence of Ms. Varsha Patwari, Assistant General Manager, Directorate of Career Advancement; Dr. Prateeti Barman (she/her), Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; and Dr. Sagarika Mahanta Das, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Ms. Hussain began by creating awareness among final-year students about the significance of UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, SLET, and JRF examinations as vital pathways to academic and research excellence. She elaborated on key aspects such as exam patterns, eligibility criteria, subject-specific focus areas, and effective preparation strategies. Through her engaging presentation, students gained a comprehensive understanding of how these competitive examinations can open diverse career opportunities in higher education and research institutions.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where participants actively sought guidance on exam strategies, time management, and preparation techniques.
