The 7th edition of the Pop-up Kitchen at Assam down town University was successfully organized by the Discipline of Hospitality and Tourism Management, under the Faculty of Commerce and Management. Designed to offer students hands-on entrepreneurial experience, this initiative allowed budding professionals to showcase their culinary talents while managing food sales and customer interaction.
This edition was held in celebration of Rongali Bihu, bringing a festive flair to the event. Students presented a specially curated Assamese menu featuring traditional delicacies such as Chicken Thali, Duck Thali, Veg Thali, and the refreshing Thekera Tenga Shorbot. The culinary event was led by the 8th Semester BHMCT students, with commendable efforts from Darshan Bora, Ashmita Chapagain, and Abhijit Singha, supported by students from the 2nd semester.
Adding to the cultural ambiance, the event also featured a traditional Bihu performance, where the vibrant beats of the dhol, pepa, and gogona filled the air, transforming the pop-up kitchen into a true celebration of Assamese heritage and hospitality.
