MSc 1st Semester students from the Programme of Food Nutrition and Dietetics at Assam down town University, accompanied by faculty members Dr. Jasmin Islam and Dr. Dr. Yashmin Nongrum Nongrum
visited Purabi Dairy, Khanapara, Guwahati.

Managed by WAMUL (Purabi Dairy) under NDDB Dairy Services, Purabi Dairy is the largest dairy cooperative in Northeast India, serving as a model of sustainability and community-driven development.

The students explored:
Milk reception, testing, and pasteurization processes.
Production of curd, ice cream, flavored milk, paneer, and ghee.
Packaging automation and hygiene protocols.

The visit bridged theory and practice, offering insights into food technology, quality control, and the socio-economic impact of cooperatives. This enriching experience inspired the students to innovate in the food and dairy sectors.
