Assam down town University remains committed to providing practical exposure and industry insights to its students, ensuring a holistic learning experience. As part of this initiative, an industrial visit was organized for the MBA students of the Faculty of Commerce and Management to ITC Limited.
A total of 29 students from the 2nd semester (SEC A) participated in the visit, accompanied by faculty members Mr. Rituparna Bhuyan and Mr. Trinkul Kalita. Upon reaching the ITC ICML plant in Kukurmara, the students were warmly welcomed by HR Manager, Mr. Rupam Talukdar, who conducted an engaging interactive session. He provided an overview of ITC’s organizational culture, key business functions, and the stringent quality and safety measures implemented within the factory. This was followed by a session conducted by the Safety and Quality Officer, who elaborated on the essential protocols followed in food production to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.
Students were then given a guided tour of the manufacturing plant, where they observed the entire production process from raw material utilization to manufacturing, packaging, and final distribution. This hands-on experience allowed them to understand the intricate workings of the FMCG industry, making theoretical concepts more relatable and practical.
