Assam down town University, in collaboration with the British Council, hosted an enlightening session featuring Dr. Sharon T. Saunders, a distinguished lecturer from the University of Dundee.
The event, anchored by Assistant Professor pankhi kashyap, brought together academicians, researchers, and students to delve into the transformative power of performing arts.
Dr. Prateeti Barman (she/her) Barman opened the session with a warm welcome, extending congratulations to Dr. Saunders and Mr. Joydeep Bardaloi from the British Council for their invaluable contributions to strengthening international academic ties.
Dr. Saunders’ lecture, titled "The Power of Performing Arts in Communication, Connections, and Collaboration," emphasized how the performing arts transcend cultural and linguistic boundaries, serving as a universal form of expression. Her insights highlighted the arts’ unique ability to build connections, foster collaboration, and bridge divides between diverse disciplines. She also shared the academic culture of the University of Dundee, emphasizing its commitment to creative innovation and international partnerships.
The session, which also saw the participation of two research scholars from Guwahati University, sparked lively discussions and reflections among the attendees. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Utpal Datta, Professor of Practice, who acknowledged the collective efforts of all those involved in making the event a resounding success.
