Assam down town University is committed to fostering innovation and entrepreneurial spirit among students, especially in the ever-evolving food and beverage industry. Recognizing the dynamic nature of this sector, the Discipline of Hospitality and Tourism Management has launched the Pop-up Kitchen, an exciting initiative that allows students to showcase and sell a variety of delicious food and beverage items every Friday on campus.
The recent edition of the event saw the participation of 6th and 2nd-semester BHMCT students and 2nd-semester DHM students, who prepared and served mouth-watering dishes like Kolkata-style Chicken Biryani, Hakka Noodles with Veg Manchurian, and Chilly Chicken, among others. Their efforts delighted the university community, and also reinforced the importance of practical learning in hospitality education.
The inspiration behind this initiative comes from the collective efforts and guidance of dedicated faculty members, including Dr.Bhola Chourasia, Dr. Santosh Kumar Upadhyay, Mr. Mridu Pawan Rabha, Mr. Ritwick Goswami, Mr. Jyotirmoy Choudhury, Mr. Mriganka Oza, Mr. Santanu Sarma, Ms. Meenakshi Das, and Mrs. Arjina Begum.
A heartfelt appreciation goes out to the BHMCT and DHM students for their dedication, discipline, and passion in organizing this event successfully. The Pop-up Kitchen at Assam down town University is more than just an event, it is a stepping stone for budding entrepreneurs in the hospitality industry!
