Assam down town University proudly commemorates the successful conclusion of the 5-day hashtag#Ojapali workshop organized by the Programme of Performing Arts.
The event commenced with Ms. pankhi kashyap, faculty member and workshop organizer, elegantly hosted the ceremony and warmly welcomed all attendees, thereby establishing a positive atmosphere for the proceedings.
The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences gave a formal welcoming message, praising the students' dedication and thanking the workshop's resource person, Mr. Gunakar Dev Goswami. Following that, renowned cultural historian Mr. Utpal Datta provided incisive thoughts on the need of preserving indigenous art forms such as hashtag#Ojapali, praising the students' enthusiasm and perseverance.
Mr. Gunakar Dev Goswami provided an in-depth overview of the workshop, emphasizing the skills and techniques acquired over the five days. He praised the students for their hard work and discipline in mastering the intricacies of Ojapali. Under his mentorship, the students showcased a demonstration performance that encapsulated their learning journey. The performance began with warm-up exercises, followed by the four types of Gatis—Dukhujiya, Sarikhujiya, Gaja gati, Asha gati, and Dhupuni gati. The students also presented lessons on Raga and Abhinaya (expressions), culminating in a captivating rendition of the Vandana.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. Pankhi Kashyap, expressing gratitude to all participants, faculty, and especially Mr. Gunakar Dev Goswami for his exceptional expertise and guidance.
