Assam down town University, through its Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in collaboration with the AdtU Alumni Association, organized an engaging alumni interaction event featuring Mr. SURAJ CHAMLAGAIN, Human Resource Manager at SITAJAKHALA DUGDHA UTPADAK SAMABAI SAMITI LTD., Amlighat, Jagiroad, Morigaon, Assam.

The event began with a formal greeting by Mr. Manimugdha Medhi, Assistant Professor in the Social Work department and FHSS Alumni Coordinator, followed by Dr. Prateeti Barman (she/her), Dean (i/c), Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, who felicitated the visitor. Following her cordial greeting, Dr. Barman discussed the contributions made by the alumni and established the framework for an insightful conversation. Dr. Dr. Samannoy Baruah, Director of the Directorate of Alumni Association, gave a brief presentation on the significance of alumni collaboration and participation in development.

Mr. Suraj Chamlagain shared his enriching experiences as a former student at AdtU and his role as Vice-President and Advisor of the NGO Raahein. He also discussed his current role at Sitajakhala D.U.S.S. Pvt Ltd., providing a brief history of the organization and its social initiatives, including women and child development, child education, and socio-economic development for marginalized communities such as farmers and women. Additionally, he showcased a video highlighting the latest technological advancements and modernized methods used in the production of milk, curd, sweets, and other products.

Following Mr. Chamlagain's presentation, Mr. Manimugdha Medhi summarized the session, emphasizing key points, and led a lively Q&A session that allowed students to engage directly with the guest. The event facilitated valuable professional connections between alumni and current students, fostering mentorship, job opportunities, and potential future collaborations. The strengthened relationship between alumni and the institution also promises increased alumni involvement in future events, fundraising, and institutional support. Hearing the success stories and challenges faced by alumni inspired and motivated current students to set and achieve their own career goals.
