AdtU Hosts Partition Horrors Remembrance Day Event Featuring Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Assam down town University hosted an event on "Partition Horrors Remembrance Day," organized by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Regional Centre Guwahati, in observance of the 78th Independence Day.

This initiative aimed to honor the memory of those who endured the pain and trauma of partition and to pledge our commitment to peace and unity, ensuring that such tragedies are never repeated. The event featured a film screening followed by a panel discussion, with Dr. Rembemo Odyuo, Regional Director of the IGNCA Northeast Regional Centre, moderating and delivering the welcome speech. Dr. Amarjyoti Choudhury, former Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University, former Vice Chancellor of Assam down town University and Former Pro Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University, attended as a distinguished guest. Dr. Sagarika Mahanta Das, a faculty member at Assam down town University, was one of the panelists, contributing to the discussion and raising awareness among the students of Assam down town University.
