Assam down town University celebrated its 17th Lamp-Lighting & Oath-Taking Ceremony marking a milestone for 103 nursing students from B.Sc. Nursing, GNM, and ANM programs. Organized by the Faculty of Nursing and Sankar Madhab School of Nursing, the event highlighted the students’ commitment to the noble profession of nursing.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Aprajita Goswami, Associate Professor, and was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Prof. (Dr.) N.C. Talukdar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, and other notable leaders, who inspired the students with their words of wisdom.

The ceremonial lamp-lighting, led by Prof. N. Monika, Associate Dean (Academics), symbolized enlightenment and dedication, while Prof. (Dr.) Prof (Dr)Manashi Sengupta, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, presented the department’s achievements in an annual report.

Key highlights included the release of the 4th Biennial Newsletter, a prize distribution recognizing excellence in academics, clinical practice, and extracurriculars, and a vibrant cultural program by the students.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Ms. Bithika Borah, Lecturer, leaving all attendees inspired by the students’ commitment to compassionate and skilled healthcare service.
