Assam down town University is pleased to host the 12th Annual National Conference of the All India Association of Medical Social Work Professionals (AIAMSWP) on 30th September and 1st October 2026.

The conference will be graced by Prof. Ashok Puranik, Executive Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Guwahati, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Sonia Pereira Deuri, Professor & Head, Department of Psychiatric Social Work, Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH), Tezpur, as the Guest of Honour.

The conference will also feature Ms. Poonam Dhanda, President, AIAMSWP and Medical Social Welfare Officer, VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi; Sh. Raghavendra Kumar Rai, General Secretary, AIAMSWP and Medical Social Welfare Officer, Department of Ophthalmology, Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh; and Prof. Bhagirathi Panda Honorary Director, ICSSR-NERC, who will be the Chief Guest for the Valedictory Session.

Organised by the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, Assam down town University, in collaboration with down town Hospital, Guwahati, and supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research – North Eastern Regional Centre (ICSSR-NERC), the conference will provide a platform for academic discussions, professional dialogue and exchange of perspectives within the field of medical social work.
