Awareness Drive on First Aid, Basic Life Support and Emergency Response Training Conducted to Promote Life-Saving Skills

Assam down town University organised an awareness drive on “First Aid, Basic Life Support and Emergency Response Training” to equip participants with essential life-saving skills and the confidence to respond effectively during emergencies.

The program covered key aspects of basic first aid, CPR, Basic Life Support (BLS), management of bleeding, burns, choking, and other common emergency situations. 

Participants were also provided with practical demonstrations on CPR and basic emergency response techniques, enabling them to understand how timely and appropriate intervention can make a difference during critical situations.

The session emphasised the importance of staying calm, providing immediate first aid, and seeking professional medical assistance when required. Through an informative and interactive approach, the program helped participants develop basic knowledge and practical confidence to respond appropriately during emergencies.

The program was initiated under the leadership of Ms. Anamika Roy, Assistant Professor, who served as the resource person, and was coordinated by Ms. Nibedita Ghosh, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS).
