Assam down town University hosted the AdtU Eminence in Research Awards & Research Reward Ceremony 2026, recognising 80 faculty members, researchers and research scholars for their contributions to research and innovation.

With research rewards amounting to Rs 67.48 lakh, the ceremony acknowledged achievements across research publications, citations, patents, externally funded projects, scholarly books and chapters, Q1 publications and doctoral research.

The ceremony reflects AdtU’s continued focus on recognising meaningful research contributions and encouraging a strong culture of research, innovation and knowledge creation across disciplines.

A key highlight of the AdtU Eminence in Research Awards & Research Reward Ceremony 2026 was the inaugural lecture of the Distinguished Scientists Lecture Series delivered by Dr. Shannon Olsson, Founder and Global Director of the echo network and associated with the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR).

Drawing on over 25 years of experience across research, science and interdisciplinary work, Dr. Olsson shared perspectives on the evolving landscape of scientific research and the importance of connecting research with real-world challenges. Her presentation brought together insights from her academic and research journey, encouraging researchers and scholars to think beyond disciplinary boundaries and explore new approaches to scientific inquiry.

Dr. Olsson also presented the research rewards to the recipients, marking the launch of the Distinguished Scientists Lecture Series at AdtU.
