Assam down town University (AdtU) strives to achieve excellence in research and innovation, collaboration, Technology transfer, and dissemination and ensures commitment towards research activities for the upliftment of society and sustainable development. Research Policy

Assam down town University has undertaken diverse research projects spanning various fields. Notable projects include a study on the nutritional and aromatic properties of Joha and black rice varieties, an investigation into anti-diabetic compounds in North Eastern banana varieties, and the development of a portable friction stir welding machine. Additionally, research has been conducted on genotoxicity of food preservatives, linguistic communication apps, and the genetic diversity of local fish species. The University's faculty members are actively engaged in research across multiple domains, including engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, commerce, management, humanities, and more.

Research Activities

Assam down town University (AdtU) is engaged in a wide range of research activities in various disciplines receiving project-based Research and Development programs/grants from various Government, Non-Government, and other agencies besides the university’s own funding through Seed Money Grants. The University's faculty members, researchers, and students are actively involved in research across multiple fields of science which includes Computer Science and Technology, Engineering, Paramedical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Science, Nursing, Commerce and Management, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Agriculture. Noteworthy research includes the Science and Technology Innovation (STI) Hub for Schedule Tribes for research in sustainable development for livelihood generation. Research Collaboration

The Assam downtown University (AdtU) has established collaboration with multiple educational & research institutions as well as private partners to bring in the best in academic and research & innovation to the campus and the country as a whole. Currently, the AdtU is having over 230 Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with State and Regional Universities & Colleges, National Universities/Institutions, as well as international institutions.

These multi-institutional collaborations have enhanced cooperation between institutions, enabling research in various scientific fields such as tea research, characterization of ethnic medicinal plants, food processing and technology, nursing, and healthcare. Additionally, the collaborations have facilitated student and faculty engagement, technology application, entrepreneurship development, and technology implementation. This global exchange of ideas leads to more innovative, comprehensive, and impactful research outcomes.
