Research is the backbone of any R&D organization. The research policy of Assam down town University aims to generate, support and strengthen the research and development and scientific temper among its faculties and students for enriching and increasing the professional capability of the faculty members. The new education policy introduced by the government of India is giving more importance to research. In this context, Assam downtown university, is one of the ideal examples at North East region. My University has a vision to promote global competitiveness by providing multiple opportunities for excellent education, applied research, innovation and service to humanity. University is now having number one position in North East region with NAAC accreditation and ISO Certification. University is an ideal example for completion of two mega net work projects funded by the Department of Biotechnology Govt of India linking more than 100 research institutions state and central universities in the country. In addition to this, faculties are having projects funded by the department of science & technology and other state funding agencies too. University is also providing mini grants for projects to encourage the faculties to undertake mini projects in all areas. University has excellent infrastructure to undertake any challenging areas of research in biological sciences,nanoscience, pharmaceutical, management, paramedical,Nursing, social sciences & Humanities and engineering sciences.
The faculties are highly qualified and are regularly publishing good research papers and patents too. University is also having MoU with a number of R&D institutions, industries, pvt institutions and organizations .The objectives of the MoU’s/ academic collaboration are to make effective research-education linkages created by the synergies between the institutions for the benefits of students, academics, researchers etc. This will strengthen the research collaboration and further boost the research atmosphere in the university campus.Over and above, the management is providing excellent support at all levels for strengthening the university’s status at national level.
