What is this Programme about?

The mission of the BA Psychology program is to prepare competent and effective professional committed to generalised practice with the ability to respond to the needs of individuals, families, groups, communities and organizations. The program is committed to understand the mental health issues of Human being. The programme in particular is aimed at identifying and addressing community needs and issues, including those related to the mentally abuse, cultural diversity. In support of its educational endeavours, the program is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, lifelong learning and community service.

 

 

How this Programme Benefit you & your Career?

The Bachelor of psychology course consists of three years of full-time university level study. It aims to prepare students for effective professional practice as in the social and community services sector.

The general objectives of the curriculum are associated with the liberal arts component of the BA Course, which in time sequence precedes the professional component of the BA course. The objectives are:

  • To demonstrate theoretical perspectives, major concepts and findings in Social Basis of Behavior.
  • To demonstrate theoretical perspectives, major concepts and findings in Clinical Approach in psychology.
  • Demonstrate theoretical perspectives, major concepts and findings in cognitive approach in psychology.
  • To demonstrate theoretical perspectives, major concepts and findings in biological basics of behavior.
  • To improve the quality of life for everyone.
  • To become aware of the mental health illness.

A Bachelor of Psychology is required in various sectors such as:

Research:

The Psychology Programme undertakes research activities in the form of Phd work, research papers, academic projects, funded projects etc. The thrust areas of research under the programme are,
