What is this Programme about?Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering is a Under Graduate Degree awarded for the programme in the area of Computer Science and Engineering. Abbreviated form for the Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering is BCS Learning Objectives: Graduate will establish himself/herself as effective professionals by solving real world problems using investigative and analytical skills along with the knowledge acquired in the field of Computer Science and Engineering; Graduate will demonstrate his/her ability to adapt to rapidly changing environment in advanced areas of Computer Science and scale new height in their profession through life-long learning; Graduate will prove his/her ability to work and communicate effectively as a team member and /or leader to complete the task with minimal resources, meeting deadlines; Graduate will embrace professional code of ethics in the profession while deliberately being part of projects which contributes to the society at large without disturbing the ecological balance. Eligibility for admission: Selection procedure: He/she has passed H.S. in Science (with atleast 45% in Physics,Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational Subject) /Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology (with atleast 45%) for Lateral entry (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) Duration of the course Duration of the course: 8 semesters/ 4 Years Medium of instruction: English shall be the medium of instruction for all the subjects of study and for examination of the course. Attendance: A candidate will be permitted to appear for the University Examination for any semester if he / she secure not less than70% of attendance in the number of instructional days during the calendar year, failing which he / she will be not allowed to appear in the semester examination.BCS degree shall be on a full time pattern with graded responsibilities in the theoretical and practical applications of computer sciences. The participation of all the students in all facets of educational process is essential. Every candidate should take part in seminars, group discussions etc. Every candidate should be required to participate actively and with team spirit. Overall development should include involvement in workshops conducted by the department and research studies. PO3 : Design/ Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal and environmental considerations. PO4 : Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.
