Eligibility for admission: Eligibility Criteria: For candidates seeking admission to the First Semester: · Passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) of AHSEC or any other recognized Board with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. · Must have secured at least 45 % marks in aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (with 5 % marks relaxation in aggregate marks for candidates belonging to the ST / SC categories). · Must be physically fit and should possess a good moral character. · Shall have to produce the Citizenship Certificate at the time of admission. Students from abroad shall have to fulfill the requisite conditions prescribed by the Govt. of India. For candidates seeking admission to the Third Semester through Lateral Entry for Diploma holders: · Must have passed the Diploma examination of the State Council of Assam or any other equivalent examination in Mechanical Engineering or in any related branch of Mechanical Engineering. · Must have secured at least 45% marks (with 5% relaxation for reserved categories of SC/ST) in aggregate in the diploma examination. Underscrutiny Programme Contents:Duration of the course Duration of the course: 8 semesters/ 4 Years Medium of instruction: English shall be the medium of instruction for all the subjects of study and for examination of the course. Attendance: A candidate will be permitted to appear for the University Examination for any semester if he / she secure not less than75% of attendance in the number of instructional days during the calendar year, failing which he / she will be not allowed to appear in the semester examination. The participation of all the students in all facets of educational process is essential.
