Optometry is health care profession concerned with eye and related structures, as well as vision, visual systems & vision information processing in humans. Optometrists are primary care providers for the diagnosis, management and treatment of the eye diseases & refractive disorders. Optometrists examine and diagnose many ocular disorders, as well as Refractive conditions and manage by prescribing optical aids such as glasses,contact lenses & other remedial aids. They can also specialize in the field of contact lens, orthoptics, low vision aids, sports vision, pediatricoptometry, behavior optometry etc.

PROGRAM OUTCOME

PO1 Optometry knowledge- Apply the knowledge of physics, Biology, Hospitality, Marketing, Enterpreneurship and an optometric specialization to the solution of complex optometric problem

PO2 Problem Analysis- Identify, Examine, Manage, Research literature and analyze complex optometric problem reaching validated conclusions using natural science and Geometrical optics.

PO3 Design/development of solutions- Design solutions for complex optometry problem and develop systems that meet the required needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal and environmental considerations.

PO4 Conduct investigations of complex problems- use research based knowledge and research methods including designs of examination, analysis and interpretation of data and combine the information to provide valid conclusion.

PO5 Modern tool usage- introduce, select and implement better techniques, resource and modern optometry instrument to complex optometric activities with an understanding of the limitations
