Assam down town University successfully organized AdtU PHARMACON 3.0, an international conference on "Empowering Healthcare and Wellbeing towards Achieving Sustainable Development Goals: Research, Innovation, and Industry-Academia Partnership."
The event, held on March 28th and 29th, 2025, was hosted by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science in collaboration with esteemed institutions including Our Lady of Fatima University, Philippines; Chemex Global; Signova Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.; The Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Assam state branch; and The Indian Pharmaceutical Association Students’ Forum, AdtU Chapter. The conference was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Jaideep Baruah, Director, ASTEC. Keynote Speaker Dr. Chandra Kant Katiyar, CEO (Technical) Healthcare, Emami Ltd., and Guest of Honour Dr. Vandana B Patravale, Professor, ICT, Mumbai & National Convenor, Women’s Forum, APTI, graced the event alongside Dr. N. N. Dutta, Chancellor; Prof. (Dr.) N.C. Talukdar, Vice Chancellor; and Prof. (Dr.) Pranveer Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor, AdtU.
The dignitaries released the conference abstract book and the bi-annual magazine.
The event featured insightful discussions from various distinguished guests. Dr. Jaideep Baruah highlighted the importance of economic resources and industry-academia collaboration in the pharmaceutical sector. Dr. Vandana Patravale spoke on nano carriers, nano vaccine development, and nano drugs for neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Chandra Kant Katiyar shared insights on phytoconstituents and their role in healthcare. Dr. Deep Jyoti Bhuyan, from Western Sydney University, Australia, discussed gut postbiotics and their potential in cancer therapy. Dr. Tillayev Sanjar Usmonovich, from Samarkand State University, Uzbekistan, explored the role of isoquinoline derivatives in treating bone disorders. Additionally, a panel discussion featured experts like Dr. Hemanta Kr Sharma, Dr. Pullapanthula Radhakrishnanand, Dr. Vijaya Kumar, Dr. Pallab Kanti Haldar, and Dr. Dipankar Karmakar, who focused on the evolving dynamics of industry-academia partnerships.
A total of 35 oral presentations, 246 poster presentations, and 15 e-poster presentations covered topics such as natural products, phytoconstituents, nano vaccines, and pharmaceutical economics. The hybrid format allowed both online and offline participation, enhancing its global reach. The event was chaired by Prof. Dr. Saikat Sen, Dean, FPS, Assam down town University, with Dr. Manash Pratim Pathak, Associate Professor, serving as the Convener, and Dr. Rinchi, Assistant Professor, as the Organizing Secretary.
