Every year, on June 5, World Environment Day is observed globally to raise awareness about environmental protection, preservation, and sustainability. It is the largest platform worldwide for promoting sustainable development practices, with millions of people participating in programs for the protection and conservation of the environment. On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Committee for Outreach Activities at Assam down town University, in collaboration with the Help Aid Foundation, Guwahati, organized a plantation drive in nearby adopted villages as part of the Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative. Faculty members of Assam down town University, members of the Help Aid Foundation, and residents of the adopted villages participated in the plantation drive, making it a resounding success.
