Research

Prof. Robin Gogoi has earned vast professional experience in teaching, research (fungal pathology with specialization in the management of the diseases of maize, wheat, rice, potato and ornamental crops, host-pathogen interactions, nano-biotechnology and mushroom cultivation technology) and extension from 35 years of active service.  He had exposure visits in various agricultural institutions of India and other countries including Canada, China, Nepal, Taiwan and Thailand. He executed sincere service to ICAR as Nodal Officer of IARI-Assam from March 2014 to July, 2017. He has resumed the duty of Nodal Officer, IARI-Assam from December, 2022. He was Head (Acting) of the Division of Plant Pathology, IARI since September, 2022 to April, 2023. He occupied the position of Professor of the division from April 2022 and has superannuated from the active service in 31st December, 2024.

Prof. Gogoi has got publications of more than 150 research papers in high impact journals, 22 short communications, 8 authored books, 1 Edited book (2026), 9 review articles, 34 book chapters, 16 research based articles, 14 extension bulletins, 6 practical manuals/compendia and 67 popular articles. More than 26 research papers were presented in the national and international symposia and seminars. He is credited with 2 patents (nano-hexaconazole and nano-sulphur), 20 maize varieties (namely ASKH1, APQH7, APQH5, APH27, PJHM1) and 1 wheat germplasm (IC290150, Regd, No. INGR19046). So far he has guided 7 M.Sc. and 9 Ph.D. students as a Chairperson, 40 students as Co-Chairperson and member. He has run 6 externally funded projects of ICAR, DBT and DST.
