Assam down town University marked International Yoga Day 2025 with a soulful celebration titled "Yoga Sangam", where wellness met wisdom on one holistic platform.
The event began with an inspiring session conducted by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) N. C. Talukdar, who set the tone for the day by emphasizing the deeper connection between yoga, discipline, and inner transformation.
Organized by the Faculty of Nursing and the Faculty of Pharmacy, the session was further enriched by Ms. Lakhimi Gogoi, Principal of down town Nursing School, AdtU. With her extensive experience in nursing and holistic health, she guided participants through a carefully designed sequence of yoga postures and mindfulness practices. Her focus on integrating yoga into daily life for enhanced mental clarity, emotional balance, and physical well-being resonated strongly with the attendees.
The atmosphere remained calm yet energized as students and staff engaged actively, embodying the spirit of this year’s theme “Yoga for Self and Society.”
The event was seamlessly coordinated by Assam down town University, in collaboration with the Outreach and Extension Cell and the OM Yoga and Meditation Club, reinforcing the university’s ongoing commitment to nurturing wellness, awareness, and harmony within its academic environment.
