Assam down town University, through its Programme of Optometry under the Faculty of Allied and Healthcare Sciences, organised a two-day academic program to commemorate World Sight Day 2026, in collaboration with Bausch + Lomb India Pvt. Ltd., under the theme “A Broader View of Vision: Eye Care, Lifestyle and Well-Being.”

The program featured expert sessions, interactive discussions and hands-on training on responsible contact lens practices, digital eye strain, visual ergonomics, preventive eye care and the role of nutrition in maintaining ocular health. Led by industry professionals and optometry practitioners, the sessions provided students with valuable insights into contemporary eye care practices and strengthened their practical skills in contact lens handling and patient education.

The initiative reinforced the importance of eye health awareness, preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices while providing a platform for knowledge exchange and professional development.
