













Assam down town University proudly observed World Radiography Day, commemorating the historic discovery of X-rays by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen in 1895.
The Programme of Radiology under the Faculty of Paramedical Sciences organized a special session to highlight the crucial role of radiology in healthcare, raise awareness on radiation safety, and honor the dedication of radiographers in accurate medical diagnosis and treatment.
The event began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Nripati Kumar Kalita, who emphasized the significance of radiographers as the backbone of diagnostic services and motivated students to uphold professionalism and empathy in patient care.
The key feature of the programme was an insightful Guest Lecture by Dr Palash Jyoti Das, a respected expert in radiology. He spoke on the latest advancements such as digital radiography, CT, MRI, and interventional radiology, while stressing the importance of radiation protection protocols to ensure safety for both patients and technologists. The session was highly engaging, encouraging active participation and discussions among students.
The celebration enhanced students’ understanding of modern radiographic practices, ethics, and patient-centered care, inspiring them to pursue continuous learning and excellence in their careers.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Ms. Antara Bhowmik, Assistant Professor, acknowledged the contributions of the guest speaker, dignitaries, faculty, and all participants for making the event successful and meaningful.
