Assam down town University marked World Mental Health Day 2025 with a creative and thought-provoking skit competition organized by the Programme of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, in collaboration with the Outreach Extension Committee.
The event featured two impactful performances, a skit on the importance of seeking help for mental health concerns and a role play portraying a patient with adjustment disorder and its management. Through these realistic depictions, students highlighted the importance of empathy, awareness, and early intervention in addressing mental health challenges.
Performed by enthusiastic psychology students, the skits captured the realities of mental struggles and emphasized how timely professional support can make a life-changing difference. The event concluded with an engaging discussion, allowing participants to reflect on their learnings and share personal perspectives on mental well-being.
Such creative initiatives play a vital role in breaking the stigma around mental health and spreading the message that it’s okay to seek help, and it’s okay to talk about it.
