Assam down town University observed World Mental Health Day 2025 through an impactful outreach program organized by the Programme of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, in collaboration with the Outreach Extension Committee.
The event served as a meaningful platform for students to spread awareness about mental health, encouraging individuals to recognize signs of distress and learn about available services, especially during emergencies such as disasters, conflicts, and pandemics.
With 137 participants, including students from Swahid Kushal Kuwor HS School, Panikhaiti, and Assam down town University, the outreach included awareness talks, poster presentations, and interactive sessions that fostered open conversations about mental well-being.
The initiative successfully highlighted the importance of timely support, empathy, and creating a safe environment for discussions around mental health, echoing this year’s theme, “Access to Service – Catastrophes and Emergencies.”
