Date- 22nd Apr 2026

Assam down town University observed World Creativity and Innovation Day through a collaborative initiative by the Programme of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Programme of Bachelor of Design, Faculty of Engineering.

Recognized globally by the United Nations, this day highlights the importance of creativity and innovation as powerful tools for human development and problem-solving. In alignment with this vision, and drawing inspiration from UNICEF’s emphasis on fostering creative awareness across all fields, a clay modelling activity was organized with enthusiastic participation from students across various disciplines. Equipped with clay, colours, and brushes, students were encouraged to transform their ideas into tangible expressions.

The event was initiated by Dr. Manjusha Saikia from the Programme of Psychology and Ms. Shivani Goswami from the Programme of Bachelor of Design, whose efforts brought together creativity, collaboration, and thoughtful engagement in a truly meaningful way.

More than just an artistic exercise, the session promoted mindfulness, focus, and emotional expression, offering students a refreshing and enriching experience.
