Women in Puranbari village trained in pickle-making under DST-funded socio-economic project

A pickle-making training program was organized in Puranbari village, under Rani Block, by Assam down town University as part of the project titled "Socio-economic Development of ST Communities through Hydroelectric and Solar Power Generation, Integrated Farming, and Mushroom Production."

This initiative is funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. Women from the village are being trained to prepare pickles using their locally grown produce, including olives, Indian gooseberries, mushrooms, Indian jujubes, green bananas, and banana flowers. The training was led by Dr. Daisy Sharma, Assistant Professor of Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics, along with Ms. Nairika Deka, Project Associate.
