The Programme of Optometry, Faculty of Paramedical Sciences, Assam down town University, organised a two-day workshop on “Advanced Contact Lens Practice” on 30th and 31st October 2025. 

The sessions were led by Ms. Mitalee Choudhury and Mr. Kishore Kumar Choudhury from Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, who shared valuable insights through lectures, live demonstrations and hands-on training. 

A poster presentation, case discussions and practical sessions helped participants strengthen their clinical skills and understanding of the latest developments in contact lens technology. With many participants, the workshop received highly positive feedback and encouraged students to explore research and advanced clinical practice in the field. 

The two-day workshop provided a comprehensive learning platform integrating theory, research, and clinical application. Participants gained practical exposure to specialty lens fitting techniques, an understanding of current trends in lens materials, and insights into patient management in advanced contact lens practice. The event also strengthened the collaboration fostering continued academic–industry partnership for future training and research initiatives.
