Two-Day National Conference Highlights Community-Centric Approaches to Sustainable Development Goals and Global Crisis Mitigation

Assam down town University successfully concluded the two-day National Conference on “Sustainable Development Goals and Community Engagement Towards Mitigating Local and Global Crisis”. 

Organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the conference served as a dynamic platform for researchers, academicians, and professionals from across the country to engage in meaningful discourse around critical themes including health, education, gender, environment, youth, and technology. 

Day 2 featured parallel technical sessions that focused on issues such as mental well-being, social justice, digital inclusion, and environmental sustainability, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and community-based approaches. The valedictory session, marked by insightful reflections from Dr. Saswati Choudhury, Director (I/C) of OKDISCD, and Prof Pranveer Singh PhD (IITK) FIE FSED Disruptive Education and Learning Innovator, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Assam down town University, underscored the importance of embedding SDGs into academia and policy. 

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and a vote of thanks by Co-Convenor Dr. Sagarika Mahanta Das, leaving behind a shared vision for continued collaboration and socially responsive research.
