Assam down town University proudly announces the successful completion of the Faculty Development Program organized by the Department of Botany, titled “Integrative Approach to Plant Taxonomy – Hands-on Training from Field Work to Modern Trends in Taxonomy”, held from 8th to 14th June 2025.

This week-long FDP offered participants an enriching journey through the evolving landscape of plant taxonomy, blending foundational theory with practical field and lab-based insights.

On the final day, Prof. (Dr.) Manash Sarma, Dean of the Faculty of Science, addressed the gathering with words of encouragement and vision. Dr. Suman Kumar Samanta, Associate Dean (R&D), Faculty of Science, delivered a thought-provoking session on “Importance of Chemotaxonomy in Modern Research.” 

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants and a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Minakshi Bhattacharjee, Associate Professor, Faculty of Science. The program marked a valuable step forward in fostering academic excellence and collaborative learning in the field of botanical sciences.
