Assam down town University takes immense pride in its students, who recently showcased the cultural vibrancy of Northeast India at the National Tribal and Film & Literature Festival. Organized by the Assam Institute of Research for Tribals and Scheduled Castes, this event provided a platform to honor the rich and diverse dance traditions of the region.
Their performances included the elegant Sattriya Nritya from Assam, the graceful Manipuri Meitei Dance, and the vibrant dances of the Nyishi, Adi, and Tagin tribes from Arunachal Pradesh. They also performed the rhythmic Gurung dance from Sikkim, lively dances from Mizoram, the expressive Mamita Dance of Tripura, and the energetic Garo dance from Meghalaya.
Each dance was a tribute to the region’s rich heritage, and our students performed with passion and dedication. Their efforts brought these traditions to life, leaving the audience mesmerized.
We are proud of our students for celebrating and preserving the cultural spirit of Northeast India through their performances.
