Students from the Faculty of Engineering at Assam down town University, accompanied by Faculty Coordinators Mr. Mrinmoy Dutta and Mr. Manikangkan Das, had the opportunity to attend the ongoing Advantage Assam Summit.The visit was an enriching experience, providing valuable insights into Assam’s development prospects across multiple sectors.

The day began with morning refreshments, followed by our participation in the session "I-way to Viksit Assam" at the Brahmaputra Plenary Hall. This session focused on leveraging digital infrastructure for Assam’s development. Distinguished dignitaries, including Shri JYOTIRADITYA SCINDIA, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Shri Tarun Chhabra, graced the occasion and shared their insights on the state’s digital future.
The students attended the session "Advancing Semiconductor Horizons in Assam for Viksit Bharat," which highlighted the role of semiconductor infrastructure in shaping Assam’s growth. Discussions with key stakeholders provided a deeper understanding of opportunities in this emerging sector.

On the second day students attended the session "Skies of Tomorrow: Aerospace and Defence Manufacturing in Assam." This insightful discussion focused on the potential of the aerospace and defence industry in Assam and its long-term impact on the region’s economy.

Following this, we participated in the session "Assam’s Road, Railway, and Riverine Infrastructure: India’s Expressway to the Development of NER and ASEAN Countries." This discussion emphasized Assam’s strategic connectivity through roads, railways, and waterways, positioning the state as a key hub for Northeast India and ASEAN trade. The session was honored by the presence of Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, and Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The two-day summit provided us with invaluable knowledge, networking opportunities, and a broader perspective on Assam’s growth trajectory. It was a truly enlightening experience, reinforcing our understanding of Assam’s evolving economic landscape.
