

Assam down town University proudly participated in the Young Indians Parliament (YIP) 2026 – Chapter Round, organized by Young Indians (Yi), an initiative of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), held in Guwahati, Assam on 3rd and 4th July 2026
The two-day event served as a dynamic platform to promote leadership, democratic values, public speaking, critical thinking, and active citizenship among young minds through simulated parliamentary proceedings, debates, and discussions on contemporary national and social issues.
The inaugural session was graced by the Hon'ble Education Minister of Assam, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, who highlighted the importance of youth participation in nation-building, quality education, leadership, and civic responsibility. The valedictory day was honored by the presence of the Hon'ble Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, Shri Ranjeet Kumar Das, who inspired participants with valuable insights into the legislative process and encouraged active engagement in democratic governance.
Assam down town University was proud to contribute to the successful execution of this prestigious event through the dedicated efforts of its student volunteers Gaurav Das, Himangshu Thapa, Gelina Thapa, Rashmita Chowdhury, Raunak Rana, Divyanshu Das, Lipika Deka, Parthiv Endow, Meghna, Ashmit Chiring Phukan, Ritun Barman, Tinasmita Medhi, Neehal Raj Nath, Neha Joshi and Rajraktim Saikia. Their exemplary support in participant registration, guest hospitality, logistics, session coordination, and overall event management ensured the seamless conduct of the programme.
Their dedication, professionalism and teamwork reflected Assam down town University's efforts in nurturing responsible, skilled, and socially conscious future leaders. We congratulate our student volunteers for representing the university with excellence and contributing to an event that inspired young individuals to become informed, responsible, and proactive citizens.
