Student Clubs Mark 150 Years of Vande Mataram with Patriotic Performances, Mass Singing, Art Exhibition, and Quiz Competition

Assam down town University proudly commemorated 150 years of Vande Mataram on 13th February 2026, celebrating the occasion with deep patriotic fervour and cultural enthusiasm.

The program became a vibrant expression of unity, creativity, and national pride, driven by the collective efforts of various student clubs. The Drishya Club presented a powerful theatrical drama highlighting the spirit and historical significance of Vande Mataram, while the AdtU Dance Club captivated the audience with a thematic dance performance showcased through four Indian classical dance forms, reflecting India’s rich cultural diversity. A soul-stirring mass singing of Vande Mataram, led by the Music Club, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and the audience, further enriched by the presence of Prof. Bandana Dutta, Dean of Studies and Prof. (Dr.) Narayan Chandra Talukdar, Honourable Vice Chancellor, AdtU.

Adding a creative dimension, the Beethika Art Club organized an art competition followed by an exhibition, and the Erudite Literary Club conducted an engaging quiz competition. The celebration stood as a heartfelt tribute to Vande Mataram, fostering patriotism, cultural awareness, and togetherness across the university community.
