Session on “Charms of Being an Entrepreneur” Inspires Students with Insights into Innovation and Startup Ecosystems

Assam down town University, through the IIC Cell of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, organized an insightful session titled “Charms of Being an Entrepreneur”.

The event was designed to introduce students to the core concepts of entrepreneurship and encourage them to explore innovation-led career opportunities. The session began with a welcome address by Dr. M. K. Deb, Coordinator of the IIC Cell, who highlighted the significance of entrepreneurial thinking in today’s fast-evolving world. The keynote was delivered by Dr. Bijit Debbarma, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Commerce and Management, who provided a comprehensive overview of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, discussing opportunity recognition, innovation, risk-taking, and government support for start-ups. His dynamic session captivated both undergraduate and postgraduate students. 

To further engage participants, interactive pen-and-paper activities were conducted to assess their entrepreneurial mindset and creativity. A Q&A session followed, where students actively inquired about government schemes and startup support mechanisms. Dr. Debbarma responded with practical examples and guidance. 

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Gitartha Pratim Kusre, Member of the IIC Cell, appreciating the speaker’s insights and the enthusiastic participation of the students.
